Arches Hors du Temps

Dinner is available on site, in the spirit of a traditional table d’hôtes — simple, welcoming and shared. In the Cévennes, eating well isn’t an option, it’s a way of life. Meals follow the seasons, the local markets, and the pleasure of sharing good food.

Our cooking is homemade and family-style, prepared with ingredients sourced as much as possible from local producers of the Cévennes. We cook with what is available around us, letting the seasons guide the menu.

This is not a restaurant with a fixed menu or daily service, but a dinner offered on certain evenings, by reservation. The table d’hôtes is meant as a pause after the day — no rigid schedules, no formalities. Just a meal to gather, talk, and let the evening unfold naturally, in the spirit of the house.

Valleraugue lies at the heart of the Cévennes National Park, the largest inhabited national park in France. Forests, rivers and ancient paths shape this mountain landscape, deeply marked by centuries of human presence.

Les Arches Hors du Temps are housed in a building more than 400 years old, in the centre of a village with a rich history — from the Protestant Cévennes to the French Resistance. Just a few steps from the house begin several hiking routes, including the famous 4,000 Steps Trail, which connects Valleraugue to the summit of Mont Aigoual.

Right next door is the Valleraugue Tourist Office, where a very helpful team assists visitors with hiking routes, activities and discovering the region.
Here, exploration begins the moment you step outside the house.
